Costs are determined by four factors:
- Child or adult (age 20+) : treatment
for children is 10% - 15% less than for adults.
- One or both arches : most patients
need treatment to both sets of teeth; when treatment with a fixed brace to just one dental arch is needed, the overall cost
is reduced by about 40%
- The duration of treatment
- Fixed or removable braces : treatment
limited to removable braces is less costly; however,
most patients require fixed braces for at least part
of their treatment.
