Robert Kirschen Adult Orthodontics Lecture

The day started with the concept that “Excellence has little to do with the cutting edge but everything to do with being consistent at doing simple things well”. Delegates received a detailed and well-illustrated manual to complement the course. Ama Johal and Robert Kirschen, alternately presented throughout the day, with lively interactions between delegates and speakers serving to broaden out the discussion on subjects ranging from the impact of orthodontics on quality of life and self-esteem to the different types of retention regimes.

The course was sponsored by Invisalign, 3M, TOC and American Orthodontics. Speaking with delegates during breaks, there was a unanimous view that this course was really relevant at a time when adult orthodontics is no longer taught in postgraduate training programmes and when faced with subjective training provided by manufacturers and quick-fix promoters.

Robert and Ama will be presenting a lecture at the BOC in Brighton in September and will be presenting another ‘adults only’ course in Spring 2017.
